Packet Queueing Delay in Wireless Networks with Multiple Base Stations and Cellular Frequency Reuse

ثبت نشده
چکیده

Cellular frequency reuse is known to be an efficient method to allow many wireless telephone subscribers to share the same frequency band. However, for wireless data and multi-media communications optimum cell layouts differ essentially from typical solutions for telephone systems. We argue that wireless radio systems for bursty message traffic preferably use the entire bandwidth in each cell. Packet queuing delays are derived for a network with multipath fading channels, shadowing, path loss and discontinuously transmitting base stations.

A Secure Routing Algorithm for Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks

Recently, underwater Wireless Sensor Networks (UWSNs) attracted the interest of many researchers and the past three decades have held the rapid progress of underwater acoustic communication. One of the major problems in UWSNs is how to transfer data from the mobile node to the base stations and choosing the optimized route for data transmission. Secure routing in UWSNs is necessary for packet d...

Performance Analysis of Connection Admission Control Scheme in IEEE 802.16 OFDMA Networks

IEEE 802.16 OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) technology has emerged as a promising technology for broadband access in a Wireless Metropolitan Area Network (WMAN) environment. In this paper, we address the problem of queueing theoretic performance modeling and analysis of OFDMA under broad-band wireless networks. We consider a single-cell IEEE 802.16 environment in which the...

1 Adaptive Resource Allocation in Cooperative Cellular Networks

1.1 Introduction The cellular structure is a central concept in wireless network deployment. A wireless cellular network is comprised of base-stations geographically located at the centre of each cell serving users within its cell boundary. The assignment of users to base-stations depends on the relative channel propagation characteristics. As a mobile device can usually observe signals from mu...

A New Method based on Intelligent Water Drops for Multicast Routing in Wireless Mesh Networks

In recent years a new type of wireless networks named wireless mesh networks has drawn the attention of researchers. In order to increase the capacity of mesh network, nodes are equipped with multiple radios tuned on multiple channels emerging multi radio multi channel wireless mesh networks. Therefore, the main challenge of these networks is how to properly assign the channels to the radios. O...

Comparing different handoff schemes in IP based Micro-Mobility Protocols

The semi-soft handoff scheme for Cellular IP is optimized for networks where the mobile host is able to listen/transmit to two or more base stations simultaneously for a short durationthe time that the mobile host spends in the overlap areaas in the case of a WaveLAN or Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) network. This scheme improves the network efficiency off handoff in terms of packet loss ...
